Learn more about Enzo

 

Enzo Kok (14th of August, 2002) born and raised in Kerkrade, The Netherlands, got his first violin lesson at the age of 6 at the local music school from Ingrid Holleman. In 2011 he was admitted to the talent class of the music school where he got lessons till 2016.

In 2016 he got accepted at the Sweelinck Academy, the school for Dutch top talent at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He continued his lessons there with Wiesje Miedema and Eliot Lawson.

In 2019 he started his bachelor violin study at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Ilya Grubert and Eliot Lawson. In 2023 he finished his bachelor studies in Amsterdam with the highest score.

In October, Enzo will continue his studies at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Professor Ulf Wallin.

In 2017 he received the ‘Labberté-Hoedemakers Award’ during the Peter de Grote Festival in Groningen, The Netherlands. In 2018 he was one of the three finalists of the Dutch Violin Competition ‘Davina van Wely’. In 2019 he received the 1st prize during the national finals of the Prinses Christina Concours. In 2024 Enzo won the 3rd prize as well as the audience prize at the Dutch Violin Competition “Oskar Back Prijs” during the finals.

Enzo performs regularly in the Netherlands, where he performed several times in concert halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht. He gave concerts all across Europe.

In January 2024 Enzo made his debut with the Residentie Orchestra and conductor Jonathan Bloxham whom he played the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with in the main hall of the TivoliVredenburg concert hall in Utrecht.

Enzo performed several times on tv. In 2015 he was finalist in the Dutch talent show ‘Superkids’. In 2016 he became 2nd in the German version of this tv show. In 2019, the Canadian tv-channel TV5MONDE made a short documentary about Enzo for the ‘Enfants Prodiges’ tv-show. He performed several times in the Dutch main classical music tv-show ‘Podium Witteman’ and is regularly on NPO Radio 4. (See Press & Media)

Enzo performed with several renowned musicians as: Daniel Rowland, Lisa Jacobs, Iris Hond, Anna Federova and members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

He received masterclasses from famous violinists as: Vera Beths, Simone Lamsma, Peter Brunt, Lisa Jacobs, Daniel Rowland, Philippe Graffin, Isabelle van Keulen, Tim Kliphuis, and others.

Enzo plays a violin built by J.B. Vuillaume generously in loan from André Rieu.
